Menopause HRT

Menopause has many symptoms and women who have undergone it know how difficult it is to try to cope with the symptoms and all the physical and emotional effects of menopause. This article focuses on HRT, a common treatment to help relieve menopause symptoms.

Relief Through Menopause HRT

Women can't escape menopause. Every woman will have to go through this process sooner or later. Because the onset of menopause is expected to occur among women towards their later years, women are advised to prepare for menopause and learn as much as they can about it so that they know how to deal with it when it arrives.

Estrogen Depletion

During menopause, the ovaries gradually shuts down and estrogen starts to get depleted from the blood stream. This is the reason menopause is uncomfortable. When the level of estrogen in the body falls, the body starts experiencing a chain of reaction. Hormones influence body temperature and this drop in hormones causes hot flashes and night sweats. It also causes difficulty in sleeping. The lack of sleep affects the moods, which eventually culminates in bouts of depression. This is all due to the gradual depletion of hormones in the blood.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

The logical solution to estrogen depletion and fighting hot flashes is to try to get the estrogen level up again. This is the reason hormone replacement therapy or HRT is commonly prescribed for menopausal women.

Menopause HRT gives immediate relief from the symptoms of menopause, particularly hot flashes. Because menopause HRT provides almost instantaneous relief, women who take them are able to resume their normal life and experience less of the symptoms of menopausal. For this reason, menopause HRT is one of the most popular methods of treating the symptoms of menopause.

Side Effects of Menopause HRT Treatment

Menopause HRT is a fast-acting treatment and gets rid of the symptoms of menopause almost overnight. However, HRT can increase the risk of cancer and blood clotting. This is why even though many women start with menopause HRT, they eventually move away from the treatment and search for treatments that are safer and just as effective and efficient.

For instance, many menopausal women have moved to herbal HRT. Plants have estrogen content that can be used to replenish the estrogen in the blood in the same way that synthetic HRT does. Some plants have been found to be rich in phytoestrogen or plant estrogen and are able to fight off the symptoms of menopause as well as the synthetic menopause HRT.

Women who start with menopause HRT tend to move into an alternative or natural treatment, and most doctors who initially prescribe HRT usually prescribe it in combination with natural treatments in order to lessen the risks involved in using synthetic menopause HRT.
